Falling in love - every day....

Every day, more and more - I fall in love with our son. He's amazing, magical, peaceful, fun, serious, intense, comical, inspiring, captivating and so many other things! I mean this in the most humble way - but strangers actually stop me to say they are drawn to him and how captivating and beautiful he is. One thing about Sage - he looks 'into' people - not at them. He has from day one. When he was diagnosed with his heart condition and we were told he had to have open heart surgery, the cardiologist cried with us. After spending the night in the NICU, he was doing rounds the next day and came over and said "Let me see this cute little guy because I was too upset last night to really get a good look at him". He peered into Sage's face and Sage absolutely scowled at him! 3 weeks old. The cardiologist and us all laughed and he even jumped back and said "I think he's mad at me". Now, we've seen that same cardiologist for 3 check-ups with him since his surgery last year. Sage likes him just fine now. :)

My beautiful son - as your first birthday draws near my heart leaps into my throat as I think back over what we've all been through, as a family, this past 12 months. You're our little warrior man - our hero - our total inspiration. Life is for living people! Cherish it all and celebrate your abundance! Sage's orders! ;)
